Advertising & editorial Photography

To provoke, inspire and create, an image cannot simply be reduced to one-thousand words, it has to make the difference and be the difference. As a company, PhotoMexico Advertising & Editorial Photography understands the problems faced by every business when it comes to image advertising and visual communication. We know that the right image can enhance your marketing campaign, benefit your business or sell more magazines.

PhotoMexico Advertising & Editorial Photography has been working with some of the top print magazines and marketing agencies in North America for nearly one decade.

We have produced thousands hundreds of photo shoots and images illustrating the selling of a particular product or service. Our understanding of how to work with advertising agencies, print publications, marketing / design firms and public relations agencies allows us to be one of the most sought after full-service photography studio in Mexico.

At PhotoMexico Advertising & Editorial Photography, every project has its own unique challenges and requires specific guidelines. When working on your project we will discuss your project goals, budget, time restraints and resources needed for us to produce optimal results. Only some of our photography services include: advertising photography, editorial photography, fashion, still life photography, commercial, architecture, interiors and exteriors and location photography.

Advertising and editorial photography provides photographs for a variety of publications focused on tourism and Los Cabos specifically, from supplements, to special interest magazines and the trade press.

These two areas of photography have different focuses: editorial photographs illustrate stories in magazines, whereas advertising photographs encourage readers to buy products and services. There are, however, crossover areas referred to as 'advertorial', where product pictures appear beside a promotional, but informative, article.

From the photographer's point of view at PhotoMexico, the key difference is the amount of time spent on these two areas of work, with advertising enjoying far greater expenditure and being seen to be at the glamorous end of the industry.

Typical work activities include:

- Taking pictures in studios or on location photography
- Working from sketches drawn by art directors OR working closely with clientele and converting these ideas into images
- Working closely with other professionals, such as stylists, picture researchers and editors
- Developing skills and expertise in using lighting for photography - this is important for photographing items such as food, interiors, beverages, infinity pools and as objects that reflect a lot of light present considerable technical challenges.

"If you are looking for a photographer who would do anything for you and your perfect shot, you’ve found one in Francisco! He will take you to the moon, climb trees, ride a mule, get lost in the desert with you and be part of your wildest adventure, and more, but I mean – literally! There is not a thing that Francisco wouldn’t do so you could take home that perfect photograph or photo album. I’ve worked with him on two magazine covers and one feature article on weddings. By the time we were done on the last, the whole crew was “in love” – the mood was just perfect, photos turned out incredible, and besides that – we had great fun! Francisco is a great person to work with and be around with; he always smiles and gets you in the best mood for the picture. Someday, when you get older and will look back at your wedding photographs or photographs from some other special event in your life that you did with him, you will be happy for two things: first because of the amazing photographs, and second because you will happily remember that day of the photo shoot. There are photographers that come and go, and there are photographers that will stay in your memory forever. That’s Francisco Estrada."
